Aspiring filmmaker and wallflower Twinkle Mehra has stories she wants to tell and universes she wants to explore, if only the world would listen. So when fellow film geek Sahil Roy approaches her to direct a movie for the upcoming Summer Festival, Twinkle is all over it. The chance to publicly showcase her voice as a director? Dream come true. The fact that it gets her closer to her longtime crush, Neil Roy—a.k.a. Sahil’s twin brother? Dream come true x 2.

When mystery man “N” begins emailing her, Twinkle is sure it’s Neil, finally ready to begin their happily-ever-after. The only slightly inconvenient problem is that, in the course of movie-making, she’s fallen madly in love with the irresistibly adorkable Sahil.

Twinkle soon realizes that resistance is futile: The romance she’s got is not the one she’s scripted. But will it be enough?

Told through the letters Twinkle writes to her favorite female filmmakers, From Twinkle, with Love navigates big truths about friendship, family, and the unexpected places love can find you.

Sandhya Menon writes real girls, complex with hopes, dreams, flaws and personalities that are so damn relatable.

From Twinkle, with Love follows the story of Twinkle a girl who feels ignored by her family, and friends. Twinkle just recently loss her best friends Maddie to the popular crowd. A crowd that is made up of rich kids something Twinkle is not. She feels like she is never going to fit in unless she dates Neil. She think that if someone like Neil wants to hang out with her , then she can get her best friend back. Thus, when Sahil Roy, Neil’s twin brother offers to work together she accepts with hopes it would help her get closer to her crush.

Sandhya Menon books are hilarious and make me cringe in the best way. They bring me back to high school. When crushes were your world and everything felt like life or dead. Her characters are way braver than I was in high school, let me tell you that.

This book really related to me because I went to private school where some kids were way richer than me, so I know what is like and I felt Twinkle's pain like my own.

Menon creates a really needed diversity. She creates POC girls who are three dimensional. Which is necessary in today’s literature. We need to show the world, us POC girls are more than maids, or comedy relief. We are deserving of our own story.

Twinkle was so relatable. She is very quirky and fun. Sahil has a very charming personality a quality all boys in Menon’s book have. Perfect book boyfriend material.

I feel like is necessary that Sandhya Menon tell us if this boys she keeps writing about, sweet, charming, caring, dedicated and honest are real and if they are where can I order one?

The only criticism I have is that sometimes the story is a little predictable, but nevertheless I enjoyed this book immensely .

The story is told in emails, text messages, letters from Twinkle to famous film makers. Which made the book a very easy and quick read. I read in one sitting because I couldn’t stop!

Overall I have to say From Twinkle, with Love was a fun time. I would completely recommend taking this book as your beach read or read it during summer in your backyard or pool.

Coffee with Michelle- Leigh Bardugo Trauma

Apr 24, 2018
  1. a deeply distressing or disturbing experience.
I was young and innocent when I opened my first Leigh Bardugo book , Shadow and Bone and it changed my life forever.
You have to understand that I have never in all the years of my life my heart had never been broken, until Leigh destroyed it in a million pieces. Here is a video explaining my experience and why I am so upset with the ending of Ruin and Rising.

In the video I mention a Twitter, my twitter used to be Sun_Summoner_  now it is called berrybookpages. I was SUCH trash of this fandom that I MADE ALL THIS PICTURES. ALL.OF THEM.

I am not even ashamed and please don't get me wrong I LOVE Leigh Bardugo so much and I still have love for Shadow and Bone it just hurts and I wanted to share my experience.

What was your experience with The Grisha Trilogy? Did you like the ending?

DIY #1 The Dregs Costume Funky Pop Vinyl Figure

Hey Dregs!

I am a HUGE Leigh Bardugo fan. She is one of my absolute favorite authors and Six of Crows is one of my favorite books. Naturally, I needed to make my own Dregs Funky Pop and today I want to show you how to make yours. I have like a million bookish funky pop ideas and I really hope one day Funko Pop will realize that there is A LOT of us bookworms wanting to buy our favorite book characters in funky pop form and start making funky book characters.

After of hours panting, this is the final result. I have to say I am quite please with the finish look:

Lets consider that I am a broke college students so I wanted to make the process as cheap as possible at the end of the day I spent $80 dollars including supplies which for me was a GREAT deal considering that if I brought  a costume funky pop it would had been $40 dollars each plus shipping.

The hard part is finding Funky pop that somewhat resemble the characters, but now to worry because I GOT YOU after getting each funky is just painting them and giving their clothes the right color. There are a few settings sprays that protect the paint.

Honestly I wouldn't recommend it because there leave the funky too shiny making it impossible to take pictures. I even brought one that was a "matte" and it didn't work.

I made the funks almost 6 month ago and right now I had no trouble with the paint. I stays on and they are as good as new.

Now let me show you what funky I used for each Dregs character.

In total of all the Funky pop was around $50. Keep in mind you can buy them anywhere you want I am telling where I personally brought them.

After I got all my Funky pop I went to buy materials. I didn't go to any fancy craft store I use Walmart. I brought

  • Matte acrylic pain
  • Brushes
  • Clay

Then I just painted them according to my imagination and the poster provided by Leigh Bardugo.

It was surprisingly easy to paint them and very relaxing. For all 6, it took me a whole day.

I'm Michelle and I am a

I started reading when I was 10. When I was 12 I discovered Young Adult books and it was a game-changer.

Everything started with me doing fan-cast Youtube videos in the early days of 2010. Which led me to Tumblr and blogging which eventually led to Facebook where I created a Spanish Facebook Book Page that had over 25,000 fans.

In 2012, I moved to the USA. I learned English out of my pure determination to read books. After getting settled, in 2017 I created my bookstagram which was the first social media I created in English. After a while, I expanded my brand to a blog, Twitter, TikTok and Youtube

Bookstagram was the place where I grew as a content creator. I discovered my passion for connecting with readers and sharing my crazy passion for books.

Books have helped me create some of the best friendships of my life.

I specialize in Social Media Marketing and Content Creation. For me, it's all about making a connection.

When I am not reading, you can find me watching stand-up comedy specials, binging Netflix, wishing One Direction was still together or eating ramen.

I am passionate and proud of my Latinx background, I can fangirl fluently in Spanish too. Heavy advocate for mental health and positivity.

In a palace of illusions, nothing is what it seems.
Each generation, a competition is held to find the next empress of Honoku. The rules are simple. Survive the palace’s enchanted seasonal rooms. Conquer Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Marry the prince. All are eligible to compete—all except yōkai, supernatural monsters and spirits whom the human emperor is determined to enslave and destroy.
Mari has spent a lifetime training to become empress. Winning should be easy. And it would be, if she weren't hiding a dangerous secret. Mari is a yōkai with the ability to transform into a terrifying monster. If discovered, her life will be forfeit. As she struggles to keep her true identity hidden, Mari’s fate collides with that of Taro, the prince who has no desire to inherit the imperial throne, and Akira, a half-human, half-yōkai outcast.
Torn between duty and love, loyalty and betrayal, vengeance and forgiveness, the choices of Mari, Taro, and Akira will decide the fate of Honoku in this beautifully written, edge-of-your-seat YA fantasy.

My Review:

Empress of all seasons is a brave, inspiring and utterly captivating tale that everyone needs to add to their TBR pile immediately.

This book is base in Japanese folklore .The mythology is simply beautiful and the writing is poetic. It is action packed, full of romance and self-discovery. This both is all about honor, duty and family. The characters are relatable, real and in search of their own path.

I was so pleasantly surprise will all the real life issue this books deals with. It is not afraid to be different.

Empress of all seasons is a book about a girl who was raised to believe she was not beautiful in a society where beauty is everything. She is force to compensate her lack of beauty in strength.
Sounds familiar? Well maybe is because even though this book is fantasy it clearly reflects our mistakes as society. It still a reality that the value of a girl is proportional to her beauty. Even though we are growing and evolving as society, there are places where girls have to be beautiful to be happy. As a Mexican daughter whose grew up with impossible telenovela standards and whose family also believes beauty is everything this book really resonated with me.

Emiko Jean inserts real life issues like slavery, racism, and feminism and identity into this book in such a clever way.

This book is a offers a fresh and different take on Romeo and Juliette with sprinkle of Throne of Glass. I know it sounds like a weird combination but it works wonderfully. I laughed, I cried and I think my heart actually stopped for a minute there. I read this in one sitting, and let me tell you  a book has not captivated me like this in a very long time.

The book is a standalone and I am so sad because I would love to see the journey of these incredible characters continue, but again it just shows how strong Emiko Jean’s writing is. She is able to develop a whole complex society in the span of a just one book. I really hope we get a book two because it would make an epic adventure.

Empress of all seasons touches on feminist issues. It shows what a patriarchy society causes on BOTH men and woman. The heavy expectations of gender roles children have to carry and the consequences that certain believes parents have affect their children.

Emiko Jean has a bestseller in her hands coming this November. I can’t express how amazing and captivating this book was, and how much I related to it. Remember the name Empress of all Seasons because you will be hearing a lot about it soon.
